This Week in Massage…

By Ivy Hultquist 4 Comments

Last week I stayed at home like many of you and watched on Facebook as every other massage therapist enjoyed the week in Portland at the AMTA National Convention. It looked like a great week of classes, donuts, and meet-ups. I stayed at home with two sick children and one sick husband. It was definitely less glamorous.  By Friday, I definitely could have used a visit to Voo Doo Donuts. However, there will be more conventions (and hopefully donuts). I see the convention is in North Carolina next year. I hope to make it next year to some major conventions, but I have not decided which are the best to attend. Any suggestions? We have the World Massage Festival in Vegas, AMTA Conference, American Massage Conference, and even our neighbors to the North have some great conventions from the sounds of it. Where are you going? Or are you staying in for some of the online conventions like the World Massage Conference?

This leads me to my next topic, or my plans,  for this week. Tomorrow there is a online seminar (or Webinar) by Tools for Touch™. I know in Iowa if you attend the seminar (instead of watching the recorded version), you get CE hours that are not considered independent study. That is a great benefit! There are 8-9 great presenters giving one hour presentations.  The cost is $99 for 8-9 CE hours.  I will let you know how it goes.

Lastly, this week is AMTA’s fifteenth Massage Therapy Awareness week. Do you have anything planned?

I didn’t have enough time to plan. It was fun watching all the Facebook coverage though. Thanks for the suggestions

    Hi Ivy!

I was almost in the same boat as you last week only without the children. I would have loved to go to the AMTA convention but sadly I didn’t have enough time to plan. It was fun watching all the Facebook coverage though. I do hope to go to the American Massage Conference as well as the World Massage Festival next year though. Maybe I’ll see you there!

Great! Can we meet for donuts and talk about massage? 🙂
