July 9, 2011 by Ivy Hultquist

Note- 8/15/2011 – I have received e-mails from enough people for the pilot. The course has had over 2000 students since 2011! Please sign up for our newsletter, or subscribe to this blog to be notified about future CE reviews.

Please visit FloridaMassage.com to purchase the 10 hour Florida Law course or the Massage Endorsement Package

Greetings Colleagues,

I have had several inquiries about a blog post I wrote in February about a Florida rule change for becoming licensed by endorsement in the state of Florida.  This rule change (Rule 64B7-25.004) allows therapists seeking a Florida license to fulfill requirements for endorsement through home study or correspondence format. Before this change, massage professionals were required to complete the seminar class in Florida.  This required an extra trip for massage professionals before relocating to Florida, or left them unable to practice for several weeks while waiting to take the course and obtain their license once they moved.

I am happy to announce I have completed a 10 hour Florida Law and Rules eBook course the state of Florida requires for all endorsement candidates.  This course has already been approved by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy.  Before I make this class available for purchase, I am seeking to have the course proofread and reviewed by fellow massage colleagues. I am offering this 10 hour course free of charge to those willing to perform an editorial review of the course material.  This course is eligible for CE credit in any state that accepts NCBTMB approved courses.

Requirements for Review:

  • Review the course content for relevancy
  • Check for spelling and grammar errors
  • Determine if the course length is reasonable for 10 CE Hours
  • Complete the review within 30 days

I also have for review a 3 hour HIV/AIDS course and a 2 hour Ethics/Roles and Boundaries course.  These are short courses and have the same benefits and requirements as the 10 hour Florida Law and Rules course.

If you are interested in reviewing any of these courses or have any other questions, please email me at ivy@floridamassage.com.  I will email an eBook version of the course you are interested in reviewing.

Finally, I am putting the finishing touches on my Ashiatsu Massage course.  I am planning on having this course available for review this fall.  I hope some of you will help me again with this course when it is completed.  I am very excited about it!  The modality has many benefits for practitioners and clients.  I have practiced barefoot massage for the past decade and love it more and more each day!

Thanks,
