As the #1 bestseller in its category with over 60,000 reviews, its incredibly low price makes (under $40) it one of the most tempting recovery tools on the market. Intrigued by its popularity, I recently purchased two of them myself to test (I will tell you why later).

The motor is also surprisingly quiet (around 40dB – 50dB), so you can easily use it while watching TV or hanging out with others without it being disruptive.
On performance alone, the TOLOCO massage gun rivals devices that cost three or four times as much. It is often less than $40. But the problem is, you might not get the case that goes with it.
The Dealbreaker: The Carrying Case Lottery
Here’s the major flaw: you have no reliable way of knowing if your TOLOCO massage gun will come with a carrying case. You may only get the box it comes in.
After reading countless Amazon reviews and purchasing two different units myself (as of September 2025), it’s clear the packaging is inconsistent.
My experience with this gun isn’t just from personal testing; it’s from seeing it in the real world. I’ve purchased this exact model twice. The first went straight to my nephew, a college athlete who pulled his hamstring during his very first week of practice—he needed powerful, targeted relief, fast. The second one I donated to a silent auction, where it was happily purchased by an active senior looking to manage everyday stiffness and soreness.

Some of TOLOCO’s massage guns appear to include a case, while versions do not. They arrived in a simple product box. I emailed TOLOCO and received this response:
We have different versions of massage guns, some with a carrying case and some without.
After checking your order, the massage guns you bought do not include a carrying case.
For me, the lack of a guaranteed case is a dealbreaker. Here’s why it might be for you, too:
- It’s a Gift-Giving Nightmare: A case provides the premium presentation that makes it feel like a complete, thoughtful product. Without it, it can look cheap since the recipient will have to carry a cardboard box around if they want to take it somewhere with the attachments.
- It Kills Portability: Want to take it to the gym, to the office, or on a trip? Without a case, you’re left juggling the gun, a charging cable, and 10 small attachments in a duffel bag. It’s impractical.
- It Creates Clutter: The single biggest reason a case is essential is organization. 10 massage heads will inevitably get lost in a drawer or closet. A case keeps everything you need in one organized place.
I hope TOLOCO sees this review and clearly states on their product descriptions which versions come with a case, and which do not. At this point, it is not clear on their product descriptions. And many reviews for the massage guns I purchased, showed people with their cases. So going off reviews alone, does not mean you will receive one with a case.
Final Verdict: Who Is This Definite Buy For?
So, do you buy the #1 bestseller? It all comes down to your priorities.
DEFINITELY BUY the TOLOCO massage gun for you if:
- Price is your #1 priority. You simply will not find better raw massage performance for this low of a price.
- You will only use it at home. If it’s never going to leave your house, portability isn’t an issue.
- You have your own storage solution. If you have a dedicated bag or drawer and don’t mind the clutter of loose parts, then the lack of a case won’t bother you.
You should AVOID the TOLOCO massage gun if:
- You are buying it as a gift for someone that will take this massage tool with them on the go. The risk of it arriving without a case makes it a poor choice for gifting.
- You need it for travel or the gym. The lack of a case makes it completely impractical for use on the go. Unless you just have a favorite attachment that you just throwing your gym bag.
- Organization is important to you. If the thought of 10 loose attachments gives you anxiety, look for a product that guarantees a case.
Ultimately, the TOLOCO Massage Gun is a fantastic tool let down by an inconsistent product experience. Maybe that is just my hang up.
The gun itself is excellent. The full package is a gamble. If you are part of the first group and just want a powerful tool for home use at the lowest price, you’ve found your match. For everyone else, the potential frustration isn’t worth the savings.
